Saint-Gobain Crystals & Detectors is a world leader in the design and manufacture of ionizing radiation detection materials, detectors and instruments; photonic components; pressure transducers and weight measurement systems.

Affirmative Action Program

Saint-Gobain Crystals & Detectors Human Resources Department, specifically the Human Resource Director and Manager, are responsible for coordinating all Plant activities involving Equal Opportunity affairs. Human Resources has the unqualified support of the management of Saint-Gobain Crystals & Detectors in developing, revising, implementing, and coordinating the overall Company program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

A)

Development of policy statements, Affirmative Action programs, internal and external communication techniques;

B)

Assistance with the identification of problem areas;

C)

Assisting line managers with developing solutions to identified problem areas;

D)

Designation and implementation of audit and reporting systems and/or methods to:

1)

Measure programs effectiveness,

2)

To identify need for remedial action,

3)

Measure the degree to which goals and objectives have been attained,

4)

Determine whether known handicapped/disabled individuals have been given the opportunity to participate in Company sponsored educational training and recreational activities;

E)

Serve as liaison between the Company and government compliance and enforcement agencies with minority, female, handicapped, and veteran agencies;

F)

Keeping management informed of the latest developments in the field of equal opportunity and affirmative action;

G)

Active involvement with minority organizations, women’s organizations, community action groups, community service programs, handicapped and veteran’s organizations;

H)

Periodic audit training programs, hiring and promotion patterns to identify and remove impediments to the attainment of Company goals and objectives of equal opportunities for minorities and females;

I)

Regular discussions with management and employees to assure Company policies are being followed;

J)

Reviewing the qualifications of all employees to ensure the targeted class members are given full opportunity for transfer and promotions;

K)

Coordination of career counseling for all employees.


We will continue to make efforts to increase the percentage of qualified minorities and females in positions at all levels of the organization in general paying particular attention to job groups where underutilization exists.
